When We Are Closed
Out-of-hours emergency cover is dealt with in the evening and morning by Go-To-Doc and by Matercall on Wednesday afternoons. If an emergency arises when the surgery is closed please telephone the surgery on 0161 226 0606 and your call will automatically be redirected to one of the out-of-hours providers.
A doctor or nurse will discuss the problem with you and offer advice. If you need to be seen, they will ask you to attend their surgery or arrange a home visit.
There is a walk-in centre within Manchester Royal Infirmary which provides advice and treatment for minor injuries and ailments. It is open 10.00am to 10.00pm on weekdays and 10.00am to 5.00pm on weekends and bank holidays. There is also a walk-in centre at within the main Boots store on Cross Street in the city centre. In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can also call NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
