Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Programme 2019/20

NHS England made some major changes to the 2018/19 flu vaccination programme. One of which was a different vaccine recommended for patients aged 65 and over. This is called an adjuvanted trivalent vaccine (aTIV). Adjuvants work to boost your immune response to a vaccine and make it more eff ective and long-lasting. This made the flu season more complicated and meant that we had to organise separate clinics to safely manage the age groups and vaccine administration.

The Arch Medical Practice help various flu vaccination clinics in the autumn of 2018. Once again, these proved to be very successful thanks to our dedicated team of practice staff . We are extremely grateful to our volunteers who joined us on each of the large Saturday clinics.
