Welcome to The Arch Medical Practice website. Our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.

The Arch Medical Practice is a five-partner medical practice, serving the healthcare needs of patients in and around Hulme, in Manchester.

We currently have one main surgery based in the heart of Hulme on Royce road serving the needs of over 19,000 patients. We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

Our dedicated staff have a variety of specialisations in different areas of medicine and healthcare. Being a Personal Medical Services (PMS) practice means that we have the freedom to develop new initiatives to benefit our patients and take advantage of our healthcare professionals’ skills.

We welcome, care for and treat all patients equally irrespective of age, race, religion, disability, gender or sexual orientation. We offer a GP service to residents of Hulme and Manchester City Centre. For more information if you are within our practice area please contact Tracey, the Operational Manager. Please note, we are NOT an out of areas practice.

University Practice

Are you a University student living in Manchester? The Arch Medical Practice is a University practice and currently has almost 3,000 students registered at our practice. The practice is just a 10 minute walk from the Student Union and opposite the Briely Fields Campus.

We specialise in student health. If you are a student at Man Met we may offer you appointments with the GP’s in line with Man Met term times. You of course will have full access to any other service offered by the practice and can of course be seen here during holidays too.

We participate in MMU’s annual International Student Fair. If you are a new or existing student at the University and aren’t registered at a GP surgery (Doctors) pick up your registration form today! New Year new you?

The Arch Medical Practice is officially a Parkrun Practice in association with Vitality Health. Anyone may take part whether that being running, walking, shuffling or a combination. Kids are welcome (Under 11’s have to be within an arm’s length of a responsible adult), dogs (one per runner on a short lead), babies in buggies, wheelchairs, people any age, any size. You do not have to be fit or be able to run 5 kilometers to start.

The run is organized entirely be volunteers, we even have a volunteer a tail walker – to make sure no one comes last. AND IT’S FREE!

We have over 400 runners on the last park run!

The run is every Saturday at 9am.

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis and unprecedented demands on General Practice, GPs are having to change the way they work such that patients are being managed over the telephone, via some form of eConsultations and video consultations.
