The NHS Health Check is a free check-up for patients aged 40 to 74 designed to help spot early signs of serious health conditions before symptoms develop. This includes:
- Heart disease
- Stroke
- Kidney disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Dementia (risk assessment)
The check includes simple tests and questions about your health and lifestyle, such as blood pressure, cholesterol, and body mass index (BMI), along with advice on how to reduce your risk of future illness.
