Home visits

If you are too ill to attend the surgery, please request a home visit via the appointments telephone line. Our GPs will assess your symptoms over the phone prior to arranging a visit.

Telephone appointments

Our GPs are allocated time slots throughout the week for these telephone appointments. Please speak with reception if you require an appointment with a specific doctor. Please be aware that the specific Doctor you want/need may not be working the day you are requesting for although we will always try to facilitate our patients needs as much as possible.

Video Consultations

Due to the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) the NHS completely mobilized into a new digital world. We now offer video consultations with our patients. These consultations are very similar to a face to face appointment. This is where you can speak to a Doctor using the video camera in your smartphone, tablet or computer.

If you need a video consultation a member of staff at the practice will inform you with a date and time. Usually these are only indicated in clinically necessary.

Egton Online Consultations

With the ever growing pressures on GP surgeries and national shortage of GP’s current GP practices are continually looking for ways to improve access to meet demand and allocate correctly the type of service or advice your condition requires. We have now introduced an online service that can be accessed directly from our website called ‘Online Consultant’

We now provide in-depth online consultations to assess patients at home. The system is designed to actively signpost patients should there issue be more pharmaceutical related or if you issue is above primary care and warrants an Emergency Department visit. Please note, we have a 48 hour turn around from the original document sent to provide a response.

Online Consultations should NOT be used for any urgent queries. They should be kept strictly for routine inquiries.  If you would like to fill in an online form you can by following the attached link:

Disabled access

Our premises are fully accessible to the disabled. If you require any additional assistance, please speak to a member of the practice team who would be more than happy to assist.

Appointment reminder service

The practice will remind you of any appointments via text message. For more information please speak to Matt Jennison at the practice. It is important to ensure that medical records are kept up-to-date so we can send confirmation texts.

If you change your mobile number please inform the practice as soon as you can so we can update your records accordingly.

Travel advice and immunisations

Due to indemnity the practice is no longer able to provide vaccines that are chargeable. For example, Hep B and Yellow Fever. Patients are to go directly to Super Drug in Manchester Piccadilly station. If you would like to discuss this in more detail please contact the practice reception department.

Non NHS-Services

If you need a special examination, for example, for fitness to undertake sports, pre-employment, HGV, PSV or elderly drivers, this will be done by appointment and a fee will be charged. Completion of insurance or similar forms will be available for collection at the reception desk usually after 5 working days.
